55320 Pine Crest Road in Idyllwild

This incredible mountain retreat is truly like no other.

A finely detailed house of rock, glass and impressive wood beams, the home was designed in 1984 by Scott Emsley, AIA who worked with the great organic modernist Ken Kellogg.

The interior geometry was influenced by the idea of a conifer tree. As it was, the original owner had a lumber mill and the beautiful woods used here were milled exactly to his specifications.

There are two bedrooms in the main house, one upstairs and the other down. One bedroom is currently used as a den.

A third large en suite bedroom is in a separate structure which affords a view of the house and two large live oak trees.

Located on over 1.6 acres with Strawberry Creek flowing through the property below.

Looking from below, one can see that the balcony is an impressively cantilievered structure that allows the home to feel like it is set in the trees. From inside the view is toward and through the trees and on to Lilly Rock beyond.
